Vote Delaware

Uniformed services and overseas citizen voters can use the Vote Delaware system to request an absentee ballot, receive their ballot, and mark their ballot. They can return their ballot by email, fax or mail.

What came with my ballot?
  • Instructions.
  • Your voucher number.
  • A link to a return coversheet.
  • A link to a return envelope template.
  • A link to the oath.
  • Your ballot or instructions on how to get it.
How do I vote my ballot?
  • Print your ballot.
  • Fill in the oval to the right of each selection.
  • Vote for only one candidate for each office.
  • You may write-in the name of a candidate not on the General Election ballot.
  • Get a list of declared write-in candidates from county Department's Web Site.
How do I mail my voted ballot back?
  1. Make a Ballot Envelope.
  2. Fold the ballot.
  3. Put it in the Ballot Envelope.
  4. Sign and date the oath on the back of the envelope, or
  5. Put the oath in the envelope with the ballot.
  6. Seal the Ballot Envelope.
  7. Write your voucher number, name and return address on the upper left corner of the Ballot Envelope. The voucher number is a six digit number in the email with your ballot.
  8. Mail the envelope.

Postage

  • No postage is needed if mailed in the U.S. or via an APO or FPO.
  • Send the ballot by air mail if you mail it at a foreign post office.
How do I make a Ballot Envelope?

Make the front of the envelope by:

  • Printing the envelope template for your county Department on an envelope, OR
  • Printing the envelope template and taping or pasting it on an envelope, OR
  • Writing your county Department's address on the front of an envelope.

Make the back of the envelope by:

  • Printing the UOCAVA oath on the back of the envelope OR
  • Printing the oath and taping or pasting it on the back of the envelope OR
  • Instead of putting the oath on the back of the envelope, print it, sign it and put it in the Ballot Envelope with the ballot.
How do I email my voted ballot back?
  1. Print the oath, sign it and date it.
  2. Get and fill out a cover sheet for your County Department.
  3. Write your name, voucher number, email address and phone number on the cover sheet. The voucher number is a 6 digit number sent with your ballot.
  4. Scan the cover sheet, your voted ballot and the oath into your computer.
  5. Attach the images of the cover sheet, ballot and oath to an email addressed to your county Department of Elections.
  6. Put your last name and the voucher number on the subject line.
  7. Send the email to your county Department of Elections.
How do I FAX my voted ballot back?
  1. Print the oath, sign it and date it.
  2. Get and fill out a coversheet for your County Department. (See "+ Where do I get a cover sheet?" below)
  3. Write your name, voucher number, email address and phone number on the cover sheet. The voucher number is a 6 digit number sent with your ballot.
  4. FAX the cover sheet, voted ballot and signed oath to your county Department of Elections.
