2026 Referendum Calendar

Date	Event
February 4, 2026	Last day the Department is permitted to mail absentee ballots for the Laurel School District referendum
February 6, 2026 at 12 Noon	Last time the Department is permitted to issue absentee ballots for the Laurel School District referendum
February 9, 2026	Laurel School Referendum. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
February 9, 2026 at 8 p.m.	Deadline to return voted absentee ballots to the Department's Sussex County Office in order for them to be counted.
February 12, 2026 at 10 a.m.	Certification of the referendum at the Department's Sussex County Office.
February 12, 2026 at 11 a.m.	Audit of the ballots cast on one randomly selected voting machine, one randomly selected polling place, and the absentee ballots used in the Referendum.
