- Delaware's 2026 General Election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

General Election Early Voting Dates & Times:
- October 22, 2026 – October 24, 2026, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- October 25, 2026 – NO EARLY VOTING
- October 26, 2026 – October 27, 2026, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- October 28, 2026 – November 1, 2026, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Polling Places are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on General Election Day, November 3, 2026.
- Delaware's General Election is on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

- All eligible Delaware voters may vote in the General Election.

Voters have the following three options for voting in Delaware:- Absentee Voting (if you are eligible, includes permanent absentee voting)

Who are the General Election Candidates?
Which political parties are involved?
- Delaware's major political parties: the Democratic and Republican Parties.
- Minor political parties are eligible to place candidates on the general election ballot if they meet the following criteria per Delaware Code:
- 21 days before the Primary Election, a minor political party must have at least 10/100 of 1% of the total number of voters who were registered as of December 31, 2025, registered with the party.
- The Department also requires a party nominating candidates to complete a Certificate of Party Title confirming party officers eligible to nominate candidates.

What are the key dates and deadlines?
- The deadline to register to vote if you are not yet registered is Saturday, October 10, 2026.
- Uniformed service members and citizens living outside the United States who are not yet registered, must register to vote by Monday, October 19, 2026 to vote in the General Election.
- The last day to submit a request for a General Election absentee ballot in order for the absentee ballot to be mailed is Friday, October 30, 2026.
- The deadline for the Department of Elections to issue absentee ballots for the General Election is Monday, November 2, 2026 at noon.
- Absentee ballots must be received by the Department of Elections by Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026 by the close of polls at 8 p.m., in order to count.

How do I get an absentee ballot?
- Complete a form at Delaware's Voter Portal
- Fill out an Absentee Statement (Application).
- Send the Absentee Statement (Application) to Department by mail, email or FAX
- You can vote at the Department when it is open for Absentee Voting.

How do I get on the ballot?
- File as a Democratic or Republican candidate and, if necessary, win the Primary.
- Be nominated by the Democratic or Republican Party if no one from that party filed for an office.
- Be nominated by a minor political party that has ballot access.
- Run as an unaffiliated candidate by complying with Delaware Code, Title 15, ss3002.
Where is my absentee ballot?
- Absentee ballots will be sent starting about mid September.
- Check on the status of yours with the State's Voter Portal.
- Call the Department.
How do I become a declared write-in candidate?
- Submit the required form to the State Election Commissioner for a statewide office or the Department of Elections for your county no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 21, 2026.
