Candidates for Federal Office

Candidates for federal office (U.S. Senate, Representative in Congress) must submit a candidate filing form with the Office of the State Election Commissioner before the filing deadline. Democratic and Republican candidates file in person at the Office of the State Election Commissioner, or mail the appropriate filing form and filing fee to the Office. The filing fee is due at the time of the filing. The filing fee amount is set by the candidate's State political party and filing fee checks are made payable to the candidate's State political party. Candidates from other political parties with ballot access are nominated by their respective parties, per the requirements of Delaware Code. The candidate nomination forms are available on this site at: https://elections.delaware.gov/candidates/campaignfinance/pdfs/party_certificate_of_nomination.pdf. There is no filing fee for nominated candidates.

Candidates for Federal Offices must establish campaign committees and file campaign finance reports with the Federal Election Commission(FEC).
