- File as a Democratic or Republican candidate and, if necessary, win the Primary.
- Be nominated by the Democratic or Republican Party if no one from that party filed for an office.
- Be nominated by a minor political party that has ballot access.
- Run as an unaffiliated candidate by complying with Delaware Code, Title 15, ss3002.

How do I become a declared write-in candidate?
- Submit the required form to the State Election Commissioner for a statewide office or the Department of Elections for your county no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 20.

- Complete a form at Delaware's Voter Portal
- Fill out an Absentee Statement (Application).
